March 2015 County Unemployment Data
Published: August 26, 2015West Virginia’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 7.6 to 7.7 percent in March 2015. Unemployment rates increased in 27 counties, decreased in 17 and was unchanged in 11 counties. Counties with unemployment rates above 14.0 percent included Roane (14.4) McDowell (15.4) and Calhoun (15.9). Counties with an unemployment rate at 6.0 percent and below included Cabell (6.0), Berkeley (5.9), Pendleton (5.8), Monongalia (5.0), and Jefferson (4.8). The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased five tenths of a percentage point to 6.6 percent.
