Published: September 4, 2015West Virginia’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose four-tenths of a percentage point to 7.6 in July 2015. Unemployment rates increased in 49 counties, decreased in three counties, and was unchanged in three counties. Counties with an unemployment rate above 14.0 percent included McDowell (14.2) and Mingo (14.6). Counties with an unemployment rate below 5.0 percent included Pendleton (4.9) and Jefferson (4.6). The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased one tenth of a percentage point to 7.5 percent.
