April 2015 County Unemployment Data
Published: August 26, 2015West Virginia’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 7.7 to 7.2 percent in April 2015. Unemployment rates increased in 6 counties and decreased in 49 counties. Counties with unemployment rates at or above 13.0 percent included Calhoun (13.0), Roane (13.1), Mingo (13.4), and McDowell (13.9). Counties with an unemployment rate below 5.0 percent included Jefferson (4.5) and Pendleton (4.4). The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased four-tenths of a percentage point to 7.0 percent.
