May 2015 County Unemployment Data

West Virginia's not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 7.2 to 6.9 percent in May 2015. Unemployment rates increased in 4 counties, decreased in 46 counties, and were unchanged in 5 counties. Counties with unemployment rates above 13.0 percent included McDowell (13.2) and Mingo (13.4). Counties with an unemployment rate below 5.0 percent included Jefferson (4.4) and Pendleton (4.5). The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased two-tenths of a percentage point to 7.2 percent.
