COVID19 Resource Information for WV

If you were in continued filing status and filed your weekly certifications up through 12/26/20, whether you were on Regular Unemployment, PUA or PEUC, just continue filing your weekly certifications beginning with the week ending 01/02/21 to receive extra benefits to which you may be eligible, including the additional $300.00.

If you had a gap in filing your weekly certifications for PEUC, EB (Extended Benefits) or Regular Unemployment and did not file through week ending 12/26/20, then you must reopen your claim to receive eligible benefits (Reopen means your initial claim year has not ended). You may reopen your claim by going to https://uc.workforcewv.org and selecting the first option, “To file a new/additional Unemployment Claim.” You should answer “Yes” to “have I filed in the last 12 months”. This allows the system to recognize it as a reopened claim instead of a new claim. Please allow 1-3 business days for this to process in order to file your weekly certification. All eligible claims are also entitled to the extra $300.00 of FPUC.

PUA—If you had a gap in filing your weekly certifications for PUA and did not file up through the week ending 12/26/20, you will need to log on to the PUA site at https://pua.workforcewv.org/  and select the option, “Start an Unemployment Claim”. This permits you to reopen your claim. If you have not returned to work since last filing, this will allow you to file weekly certifications beginning with week ending 1/02/21. Once you have reopened your claim, you can then select the option, “File for Weekly Benefits” on your dashboard to file your weekly certification. All eligible claims are also entitled to the extra $300.00 of FPUC.
