Gov. Morrisey, WorkForce West Virginia announce additional counties qualify for DUA benefits for communities impacted by storms and flooding in February

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Patrick Morrisey and WorkForce West Virginia announced today that Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) benefits are available to qualifying individuals living or working in Logan and Wayne Counties. Previously, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo and Wyoming counties had been designated as major disaster areas by the President on February 26, 2025, following an official request by Gov. Morrisey. The Disaster Number is #DR-4861.

Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne and Wyoming counties experienced severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides beginning February 15, 2025.
